Director of Music & Organist Search

All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Princeton, New Jersey, seeks a Director of Music & Organist to lead a high-quality, well-established music ministry. All Saints’ is a welcoming, growing congregation with a beautiful campus located in Princeton’s Herrontown Woods. The church is noted for its excellent liturgy, preaching, and music, as well as the first-rate acoustics of its sanctuary, recently renovated in 2014 and in high demand locally as a concert and recording space. The all Saints’ Adult Choir, one of the finest ensembles of its type in the area, comprises of approximately 23 voices, including eight professional staff singers, and its repertoire spans the Anglican choral tradition, with occasional forays into other styles and traditions. The Adult Choir sings each Sunday during the program year, and also offers Choral Evensong seasonally, as well as presenting at least one concert event per year, often in collaboration with other area ensembles. The Junior Choir, recently re-organized after a few years’ hiatus due to a happy influx of new, younger families, is patterned after the Royal School of Church Music model, and currently rehearses weekly and sings approximately one service per month. Additionally, members of the church who are skilled musicians occasionally have the opportunity to offer music during services. The organ is a 3-manual Allen digital, enhanced greatly by the church’s excellent acoustic; the sanctuary also contains a Steinway Model M, as well as a single-manual harpsichord by Bannister of Hopewell, NJ. The choir room houses a Yamaha NU-1 digital piano.

This is a salaried, 3/4-time position with benefits, pension, paid vacation time, and allowance for continuing education. The ideal candidate will be a first-rate organist and choral conductor with significant experience in the Anglican/Episcopal liturgical tradition, and a demonstrated track record of excellence in sacred choral worship and community building.
